The Human Behind the Brand

Our founder and Fractional Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Erika Etlen started this boutique marketing consultancy because she wanted to help businesses get big results —  even if they don’t have “big company” resources. 

Before becoming a Fractional CMO, Erika spent years on the marketing frontlines for iconic brands including E*TRADE and Bloomberg. She experienced the evolution of traditional and digital marketing first-hand and she’s seen what’s worked, and perhaps even more important, what didn’t. 

But what struck Erika the most was how much money, time, talent, and other resources were often wasted between the endless meetings, rigid processes, and layers upon layers of stakeholders and decision-makers. Game-changing opportunities and precious, non-renewable hours slipped through the cracks — an unfortunate side effect of bureaucracy.

From the outside, having an abundance of resources may appear to be a strength, but in many cases it’s actually a weakness.

Erika realized that results can happen quicker and with fewer resources, when you know exactly where to focus those limited resources.
